Caution should be taken when using all moxa products. Direct moxa, indirect moxa and needle moxa should be administered and used under the direction or supervision of a qualified practitioner. You should never leave a patient unattended during any moxa use. Do not use moxa on soft skin, the face or any other regions with sensitive skin. Do not use moxa on infants or small children. Do not use moxa on patients or individuals that cannot feel pain or heat.

Moxibustion is the application of heat to a specific area or point on the body. Along with acupuncture needles, moxibustion has become an integral part of the Oriental system of medicine. The term moxibustion derives from the Japanese "Moe Kusa", meaning "burning herb".
